Contify is a content aggregation and distribution company. Contify increases the reach of this content, by distributing it to information products and services such as Dow Jones Factiva, Thomson Reuters, ProQuest, LexisNexis, etc.
Contify platform accepts content from publishers in different formats (XML, HTML, DOC, etc.) converts it into a standard XML format and distributes it to the content buyers. The platform also produces several operations tracking and analytics reports. In addition, Contify is building a subscription based web application, for generating business leads for sales, marketing and business development professionals, etc
About the position:
Position: Open Source Team Lead

Experience: 5-8 yrs
Working days: 5
Working Time: 9am - 6:30pm
Role
The person will be responsible for the product development and enhancements. This person will work closely with the business team, understand the business requirements and translate them into requirements for the technology team. This person will manage a small technology team of 3 to 5 people.
Primary responsibilities
Product development
Closely work with the business team to understand the business requirements
Research and suggest technologies and tools available to meet the business requirements
Understand business operations and come up with suggestions and add new functionalities to optimize the operational processes
Review the user test cases with the business team and ensures robust product development
System Design
Understand the existing system and make additions in such a manner that the system integrity is maintained
Come up with technical solutions that are consistent and scalable
Fix up conference calls or schedule meetings with potential business partners
Team Management
Responsible for hiring, training and professional development of the technology team
Translate the business requirements into specifications for the technology team
Technology Stack
OS - Linux
Django - Python based framework for front end aggregation, publishing and distribution of content
PostgreSQL is the database we are using
System architecture heavily uses could computing
Skill & Experience
Engineering graduate with minimum 5 years of hands-on experience
Experience in working with multiple technologies
Search technologies such as SOLR (open source search server based on Apache Lucene)
Must have good Communication Skills
Total Experience
3-5 years
Experience in Open Source
Any one of Ruby on Rails, PHP, Python of minimum 3 years
Experience in open source framework
Any one of Django, Zend, CakePHP, Symfony, Rails etc
Experience in PostgreSQL
Experience with any relational database - PostgreSQL, MySQL
Experience in SOLR / Apache Lucene
